Capturing the Journey: My Adolescent Lens

Introducing my first collection of photographs, a visual anthology that documents my journey through the early stages of adolescence until the end of high school. What started as a mere hobby quickly transformed into an undeniable passion, revealing a natural talent that I possessed. These snapshots showcase the evolution of my skills, as I experimented and delved into the world of photography.

These images bring me back to this transformative period of my life. It was a time of self-discovery, where I eagerly explored the realms of light, shadow, and composition. With an open mind and an insatiable curiosity, I embarked on an adventure of self-expression. I played with depth of field, turning everyday objects into surreal masterpieces. And in the process, I discovered the immense power of photography to evoke emotions and ignite imagination.

This collection is a testament to the growth I experienced during this phase of my life. I witnessed my skills evolve and my artistic voice mature. Each frame represents a stepping stone in my journey as a photographer, a visual reminder of the path I have traversed and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

Studying Abroad: A Catalyst for Unleashing My Artistic side

Studying abroad has been a life-altering experience for me, opening my eyes to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. Little did I know that this 3-week immersive journey in Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein would also prove instrumental in allowing my artistic side to flourish and taking my passion for photography to new heights.

The decision to study abroad was driven by my desire to expand my world view, both culturally and aesthetically, while allowing me to further my study of international marketing. I had no clue of the powerful impact that awaited me beyond my comfort zone.

Visiting foreign countries, experiencing remarkably diverse landscapes, architecture, people, provided an overwhelming tapestry for me to explore. Each corner of the new cities I visited seemed to offer a new story, a new perspective to capture through my lens. Immersed in a different culture, I also found myself breaking away from familiar routines and norms. This freedom allowed me to experiment with unconventional angles, themes, and techniques in my photography. Capturing the essence of the culture and soul of each city became something I looked forward to on each tour and bus ride we took. This experience was one I will never forget.

Capturing Costa Rica: Enlightening adventures in photography

In 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to embark on a remarkable journey to Costa Rica, a gift bestowed upon me by my beloved grandmother, Annie. A seasoned traveler herself, she dedicated her life to exploring the wonders of the world and made it her mission to expose her grandchildren to the beauty and diversity that exists beyond our own backyard.

As a photographer, my journey to Costa Rica proved to be a transformative experience that exceeded all expectations. The lush landscapes provided an endless, spectacular, array of exotic subjects. Each scene taught me how to see the world through a different lens, literally and figuratively. While I’ve always found powerful imagery in unexpected places, Costa Rica presented me with a visual splendor I hadn’t expected.

Costa Rica's natural diversity ensured that each day was a new journey ready to be started. It expanded my experience as a photographer by presenting endless opportunities to hone my technical skills.

WORK

For the summer of 2024, I was hired as a Social Media and Marketing intern for the Cincinnati Reds within their Community Fund program. Along with that, in my junior year of college, I was elected the Director of Public Relations and Marketing for my sorority. These two roles focused mainly on the development, implementation, and maintenance of all social media and public relations channels for the company and chapter. During my time holding these leadership positions, I relied heavily on my experience as a photographer and have also gotten to expand my knowledge of graphic design and learn to adapt to the audience I’m targeting.
